Synopsis[]

The break-in confirms what Magne suspects: He must take matters into his own hands. After tying up loose ends, the Jutuls put the teen to the test.

Plot[]

Shortly after discovering someone had ransacked their home and apparently stole Laurits' new headphones, Magne reluctantly accompanies his half-brother in confronting Nisse, a tramp the latter assumed to be responsible. Cornering the hobo, Laurits interrogates Nisse regarding the break-in since he wasn't among attendees of Isolde's funeral earlier. When Nisse refuses to cooperate and pushes Laurits away, Magne steps in by bashing the hobo to the wall careful enough not to injure him but hard enough to intimidate him. Fearful for his life, Nisse confesses that he indeed stole Laurits' headphones yet not the one who responsible for the mess. He further explains that someone else had been there before he did; the owner of some big car with a huge dog parked on the main rod.

One week later, Magne consults with the school's psychologist Sindre regarding issues which bothered him as of late from Isolde's tragic death to the break-in that took place in his home around the same day of the latter's funeral. Believing the police not competent enough to properly shed the light to the truth behind both, Magne concludes that one must take matters with their own hands eventually, especially when no one else have the courage to stand up against those in power. Magne then shares Sindre his suspicion regarding the likely culprit behind the latter incident (Vidar) before returning home.

Curious to see Magne leaving Sindre's office, Ran convinces the school's psychologist to reveal what he just learned from the young man under the pretense of him distracted by something which affected his studies. As skeptical as he is about the matter due to the prospect of his client suffering grief-induced delusions, Sindre reluctantly reveals the headmistress issues which plagued Magne, including his suspicion on Vidar who may or may not the one who broke into his house. The latter revelation surprised Ran, though she conceals her actual reaction by laughing dismissively while making a mental note to confront her reckless husband later on.

Returning home, Magne and Laurits are reprimanded by their mother for intimidating Nisse on the other day, believing they supposedly let the police handle the investigation on their home's break-in despite the former's objection. Admitting he didn't realize the full extent of his strength back then (which admittedly true considering he's still getting used with his growing superhuman strength), Magne argues the case not over yet because of Nisse's accounts which pinned Vidar as the one responsible. Neither Turid nor Laurits believe him, of course, and seeing how much the former passionately defending the CEO of Jutul Industries A/S leaves the latter curious whether they had a history with one another.

Just then, Erik visits Seier residence to entrust Magne his late daughter's laptop, hoping whatever Isolde stored within would help the young man finding his share of closure.

As Magne begins reviewing Isolde's research within, Vidar returns home while having a conversation with one of his employees back in the factory through a phone. After concluding their discussion in which they brought up water tests back in 2007, he is soon confronted by Ran about his tireless search for Isolde's missing phone as of late. Ran berates him for going too far by breaking into Seier residence while everyone attended Isolde's funeral leading to Magne suspected him, citing that she figured it out from Sindre himself. She further states that Vidar's aforementioned crime was witnessed by the drug addict Nisse and that the police is not above hearing addicts' attestations, which means he's in a big trouble.

On the next day at the school, Fjor is surprised to see Gry seemingly working on her group assignment by herself, in which the latter explained that Magne's dyslexia prevented him from doing his part in it normally like the others. Just then, Oscar reminds him that it's time for them to go out with the others, prompting the young Jutul to dismiss the offer. After reassuring the concerned Gry about how his father beaten him into pulp back then where Vidar is just old-fashioned in things, parenting skills included, Fjor asks her to join him, Saxa, and Laurits strolling around the mountains, in which she accepts.

During their mountain strolling, Laurits remarks that he and his friends are in a double date of sort, which Gry and Saxa promptly dismiss. Laurits then suggests Fjor to switch the car's music to the latter's favorite heavy metal ones, which he casually does. Only Gry who doesn't seem to enjoy it because of her unfamiliarity with the music's language (Icelandic). Laurits then wonders whether Gry has taste in different kind of boys not unlike Saxa where she's into either hushed and heavy yet honest like Magne or alternatively, handsome, grave, and mysterious like Fjor. The group's trip is interrupted by a small bird which struck the windshield of Fjor's car, prompting Saxa and its owner to investigate. As they find the small bird barely survived the crash, Fjor asks Saxa why they bring Laurits along, in which the latter justifies by stating that they can get to know Magne through his brother. Saxa then puts the small bird out of its misery by eating it outright as the dismissive Fjor watches.

Unable to convince Officer Yngvild about the validity of his own attestation regarding Isolde's now closed case with the former pointing out a condemning discrepancy in it (he somehow reached the town from the mountains in the matter of half an hour rather than 90 minutes), Magne wonders whether he has another growing superhuman abilities in him. Going to the school's sprint track, the young man is pleasantly surprised by his newfound superhuman speed, able to reach 100 meters in 7 seconds - two and half seconds faster than world record.

The nurse who in charge of Isolde's autopsy, Valdis meets Erik to inform him that the hospital still has his daughter's clothes, still marred by marks from the accident that killed her. Seeing him too saddened to decide, she instead asks him to take his time for it.
